Care Calls and Friendly Visits are important points of connection.
Through community outreach and Care Calls, we continue to reach older adults who will benefit from our services and empower them to ask for the help they need. Our vision is simple: we seek to serve more older adults better. A Little Help's goal is to forge personal connections with our member and volunteers. Not only do we provide services, such as rides and yard work, but at the base of each service is the opportunity for tangible, meaningful connection- to build real relationships, to make true neighbors of people who live next door to one another. We don’t want our elders to merely survive in their homes, we want them to thrive. This reciprocal model is seen best in our check-in calls, visits, and warm welcomes.
A Little Help has both staff and volunteers who are dedicated to reaching out to our members through weekly phone calls. Check-in calls ensure we are in touch with those members who are feeling isolated in their homes and/or may not have family near. Our conversations with our members are conversational, where our Care Callers are reminiscing and asking about current needs and events. We have a few dedicated volunteers who work closely with our staff in reaching out to members weekly or bi-weekly. If you are interested in volunteering to be a member of this team, please contact us at 720-242-9032.
Through our partnership with AmeriCorp's Boomers Leading Change, we have a wonderful team heading up our Warm Welcome Program. The Warm Welcome Team will greet new senior members of A Little Help by visiting them at their homes and sharing more about how A Little Help is able to provide assistance. If some of the needs are larger and more involved than what A Little Help can provide, our Warm Welcome Team will provide resources including other organizations and companies that can provide the needed assistance. This is just one of our first steps in forging personal connections with our members.
