DIRECTOR OF ROARING FORK VALLEY

MARY KENYON

A Michigan trial lawyer turned marketing professional, Mary Kenyon has extensive experience consulting with counties, cities, towns, municipalities and destination resort communities in marketing, outreach and graphic design. As learned from her experience, working with locals, second homeowners, business owners, employers, rural residents and members of the resort community can be a challenging task due to the geographic nature of the community, seasonal calendar, diverse ages (even within the senior population) and economic position of the population. Mary has a proven track record working with these interest groups, bringing an organized approach, reliability and timeliness, to produce meaningful and effective outcomes.

Since moving to Colorado in 2001, Mary has become passionate about aging well. In 2014, Mary was hired to be the Pitkin County Aging Well Coordinator where she continues to work with Pitkin, Eagle and Garfield Counties in the Roaring Fork Valley addressing issues of housing, transportation, nutrition, social connection and overall quality of life. In 2018, Mary was awarded the Northwest Colorado Council of Governments, Area Agency of Aging’s Friend of Seniors Award. Mary also writes a monthly column called Senior Matters for the Roaring Fork Weekly Journal.

When not advocating for age-friendly amenities, Mary enjoys the western lifestyle with her black lab, Sammy, including hiking, exploring new trails, boating, outdoor music and festivals, hill-climb races, rodeos and horseback riding.
