Give and Get A Little Help!
We need you to help foster a community that is safe and inclusive of our elder neighbors! Whether you’re 1 or 100, join us in building meaningful, intergenerational relationships right on your street. Get started today by filling out the application form to the right and a staff member will contact you!
For each membership group, you get A Little Help connecting with neighbors across ages through social, service, and training opportunities and you give A Little Help sharing your stories and skills with neighbors! Volunteering members 55+ also receive one service per year.
Volunteer to help your elder neighbors with tasks like:
- Transportation to appointments, grocery shopping, errands, and social events
- Yard work
- Light cleaning
- Handy help
- Snow shoveling
- Friendly visits
- Technology help
- Organizing local community events and outreach on a Site Team
At A Little Help, we like to call our volunteering members “builders” because that’s exactly what we’re doing—building our community! Builder members are the building blocks of A Little Help who connect with older adults as a neighborly resource on a regular basis and participate in A Little Help events and activities. As a builder, you may help with rides to the doctor or grocery store, run errands, help install software on a new computer, or do a little yard work or handy work around the house. Sign up as a Builder member for a suggested annual donation of $25 to help offset the administrative costs of volunteering.
The Teen Team is comprised of middle and high school students who are paired with older adult mentors near their schools or homes. Teen Team members provide a listening ear and help around the house while their mentors share their wealth of experience, wisdom, and stories. Sign up for the Teen Team for a suggested annual donation of $20 to pay for your background check.
Join as a Connector member to weave together the social fabric of your neighborhood with A Little Help. As a connecting volunteer, you’ll have access to our social, educational, and training opportunities, book and interest groups, and our discounted local providers list. An annual donation of $100 or above is an investment in the ongoing success of our change-making organization.
Thank you for your interest in joining A Little Help!
